How to understand yourself

What is learning and how do we learn to learn and what is the quicker way to learn to learn?

The answer to this question depends on what meaning we give to the word “learning. Is learning all about memorization? Or is there a way of acquiring practical skills, that is, effective ways of solving certain problems?

We will not go into the moral and ethical side of the question-this is a topic for a separate conversation. What matters now is that the first question is, “How do we learn to learn?” And the answer is extremely simple – you have to learn to learn!

How quickly you learn to learn – the answer depends on many factors – from the general state of health, from the characteristics of the character and other characteristics. Therefore, when discussing this topic, we will discuss primarily these issues.

Here is a vivid example. Let’s take a very, in my opinion, simple example. You sit down and write – what would you like to see in your life? What achievements, what joys, what disappointments, what feelings, and so on. This will be your first experience in writing future events. If you manage to write clearly enough – good. If, all of a sudden, you wanted to write some kindergarten or pioneer camp or something along those lines – it would be a good idea to consider that when writing future events. Maybe write about the house where your schooling began, or maybe about the train station where you boarded the first train and so went to the future, and where your children are now standing. It is worth noting that many people prefer to write about what they want, without thinking that this can lead to mistakes and inaccuracies in the future. And these errors arise mainly from the wrong choice of purpose or from the misunderstanding that the purpose may not have quite the right form.

In writing any future event, you can separate the ends from the means. And the means to achieve the goals can be in many ways.

You can, for example, write the goal so that it “catches on” to you and you begin to take every possible action to achieve it. And you can write the goal quite differently, and in order to achieve it, you will have to implement it. Imagine that your goal is to build a house. You go to a construction company, say that you need to build a house, name the amount of money you are willing to spend. You are asked, “How many rooms and what materials do you want?” You say, “I want to build a house!” – “How much money?” – “$1,000!” – And they offer you an estimate.
